Elaia Dressing Table
Hotel Guest Room

Aigai is a long daybed drawn for a suite window. A thick mattress in beige woven fabric sits inside a shallow solid walnut frame on square legs. One end rises into a sloped, upholstered head rest and arm. Along the back, a round bolster held by two leather straps takes the place of a backrest. It takes its name from Aigai, the ancient Aeolian city on Yunt Dağı in Manisa. We make it in our factory in Istanbul. The mattress sits inside the frame, and its edge ends level with it, so neither a sitter nor someone lying down feels a hard line. The round bolster is held to the back by two leather straps and works as the backrest. The timber frame surrounds the mattress, so a knock from a chair or a vacuum cleaner lands on walnut rather than on the upholstery. The legs are square solid walnut; the underside is open and easy to clean. Upholstery is available in Crib 5 (BS 5852) or CAL 117 rated fabrics; the test report ships with the fabric batch. It sits at the suite window or at the foot of the bed, a place to sit in the morning and to stretch out in the afternoon. Fabric, strap colour and walnut tone are chosen at order. We set the length and which end carries the head rest against your room plan.
