Phokaia is a backless bar stool in solid oak. The seat is slightly dished and the legs are tied with cross stretchers. It takes its name from Phokaia, the ancient city at Foça near İzmir. We build it in our Istanbul factory. The shallow dish seats the body better than a flat board and reduces sliding. The cross stretchers stop the stool racking sideways and double as a natural place for the feet. Oak ages well and is easy to refinish. At cafe counters and wine bars where people sit for a short while, a backless stool keeps the front of the bar open and tidy, and guests get on and off easily. We choose the oak tone and finish with you to suit the room. Lead time and quantities are confirmed in writing with the quote.
