Gangra is a sofa drawn for suites that opens into a full bed. Closed, it sits as a wide two-seat sofa: the curved back and arms are upholstered in beige woven fabric. A slim light oak-toned timber rail edges the top of the back and arms. It takes its name from Gangra, the ancient name of Çankırı. We make it in our factory in Istanbul. The bed mechanism is hidden under the seat. From the outside you see only one wide seat cushion over a plain body. Back and arms join in a single curve, and the seams are few and clean. A timber plinth lifts the body off the floor, so the knocks from a broom or mop land on the timber and not on the fabric. In a suite it forms the sitting corner and doubles as a bed for an extra guest or a child. Upholstery is available in Crib 5 (BS 5852) or CAL 117 rated fabrics; the test report ships with the fabric batch. Fabric type, colour and timber tone are chosen at order.
