Sesamos Hotel Writing Desk

Sesamos is a writing desk drawn for hotel rooms. The body is walnut-toned timber and the writing surface is covered in a dark brown facing with a stitched edge. A low timber rail rises along the back and both sides of the top. It takes its name from Sesamos, the oldest recorded name of Amasra in Bartın. We make it in our factory in Istanbul. Three shallow drawers sit side by side inside the frame, the middle one the widest. They have no handles and sit flush with the surface. The low rail at the back stops paper, a phone or a pen from sliding off. For the writing surface we offer leather or upholstery fabric; either is kinder under a laptop than bare timber and softens the sound of a pen. The four legs are slim and tapered, so the desk looks light in the room. It is used in front of a window in a standard room, beside the sitting corner in a suite or in a work area. Timber tone and the covering and colour of the writing surface are chosen at order. We set the size against the room plan.
