Amorion Lobby Side Table

Amorion is a cylindrical side table drawn for hotel lobbies. The body is built of vertical solid oak staves with fine grooves between them. On top sits a dark, veined stone disc inside a slim oak rim. Under the body there is a recessed dark plinth and a shadow gap. It takes its name from Amorion, the ancient Phrygian city at Hisarköy in Emirdağ, Afyonkarahisar. We make it in our factory in Istanbul. The round body has no corners, so it does not catch a guest or a suitcase in narrow passages or at busy hours. The oak staves run the full height and the body cleans with daily wiping; the grooves between them give the body depth. The stone top is impregnated and leaves no ring from a glass or a cup. The slim oak rim keeps things from sliding off the top. It stands beside a lobby armchair, in an elevator lobby or in a reception waiting corner. Oak tone, stone and diameter are chosen at order. We set the height against the arm height of the seat beside it.
