Travertine Dining Tables
and Coffee Tables, Made to Size
Travertine is the warm, matte relative of marble: porous, beige and sand-toned, heavy without feeling hard. We make dining tables and coffee tables from a single travertine slab, drawn to the dimensions of your room, and ship them from Istanbul.
From a Real Project
Bodrum: an Oval Travertine Table and Block Coffee Tables
For our Seba residence project in Gölköy, Bodrum, we made an oval travertine dining table for the dining room and block travertine coffee tables for the living room. The table stands on a single pedestal, and its cornerless shape lets people move freely around the chairs. The coffee tables are two blocks at different heights, giving a stepped surface in front of the sofa. More photos are on the Seba Gölköy project page.

Before You Order
Four Decisions for a Travertine Table
The same stone turns into a very different table depending on these four choices. We make them with you, working from photos and plans of your room.
Filled or Unfilled
Travertine is naturally porous. For a dining table we recommend a filled surface, so crumbs and liquids stay out of the pores. An unfilled surface looks more rustic and ages well on a coffee table or console.
Honed or Polished
A honed (matte) finish shows travertine at its most natural and hides everyday marks. A polished finish reflects more light and comes closer to the look of marble.
Shape and Size
Oval, round or rectangular, drawn to your room and the number of seats you need. An oval softens a long room and, without corners, seats people more comfortably at the same length.
Base
A stone pedestal as in Bodrum, a solid wood base or a metal base. A stone top is heavy, so we plan the base and its fixing to the size of the top to keep the table steady for years.
Shipping and Duties
United States: stone-top dining tables sit outside the Section 232 furniture action. As of September 2026 they carry the 12.5 percent Section 301 tariff on goods of Turkey, in force since July 24, 2026. Tariff actions change, so check our US furniture tariffs page before you order.
European Union: furniture moves from Turkey into the EU without customs duty under the customs union, with an A.TR movement certificate; the import VAT of your country still applies.
United Kingdom, Gulf and elsewhere: we ship on FOB, CIF or DDP terms and prepare the export and origin documents your broker needs in-house.
Travertine or Marble?
- Texture: travertine is porous and warm, marble dense and veined.
- Colour: travertine runs through cream, beige, sand and walnut tones; marble covers white through black and burgundy.
- Care: both react to acid. Unfilled travertine holds a stain in its pores more easily; a filled, sealed top closes that gap.
Our marble work is on the marble dining table page, and our guide to Elazığ Cherry and Denizli Travertine compares Turkish stones.
Care: Three Rules
- Use coasters and trivets. Keep glasses, plates and hot pans off the bare stone; sudden temperature changes stress it.
- Wipe acid at once. Lemon, vinegar, wine and coffee leave a dull mark if they sit. A damp cloth and a pH-neutral cleaner are enough.
- Renew the sealer. Refresh the stone sealer at regular intervals, depending on use; when the surface starts to darken under a drop of water, it is time.
We use travertine in furniture: dining tables, coffee tables, side tables and console tops. Floor and wall cladding is outside our scope and stays with your contractor.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is a travertine dining table practical for everyday use?
Yes, with the right surface. A filled and sealed travertine top works as an everyday dining table. The one thing to watch is acid: lemon, vinegar and wine can leave a dull mark, so we recommend coasters and wiping spills straight away.
Should I choose filled or unfilled travertine?
Filled for a dining table: crumbs and liquids do not settle into the pores, and the top wipes clean. Unfilled travertine looks more natural and rustic, and it suits a coffee table or console that sees lighter use.
Do you also make travertine coffee tables?
Yes. For our Seba residence project in Gölköy, Bodrum, we made block travertine coffee tables for the living room alongside an oval travertine dining table. Coffee tables, side tables and console tops are made to size as well.
What is the lead time for a travertine dining table?
A single piece or a single room takes about six weeks to produce. A whole home runs two to three months, and larger projects are scheduled individually. International shipments add transit time.
What is the US tariff on a travertine dining table from Turkey?
Stone-top dining tables sit outside the Section 232 furniture action. As of September 2026 they carry the 12.5 percent Section 301 tariff on goods of Turkey, in force since July 24, 2026, and the MFN rate on the main furniture headings is free. Tariff actions change, so check our US furniture tariffs page before you order.
