Mylasa is a dining chair without legs: the seat rests on a single cone-shaped pedestal covered in the same fabric. The pedestal widens toward the floor and gives the chair a calm, sculptural stance. It takes its name from Mylasa, the ancient city in Muğla known today as Milas. A half-round back wraps the seat at the sides without forming arms, so the chair slides under the table. A separate welted cushion sits on the thick round seat. Back, seat and pedestal are upholstered throughout, with no wood or metal in sight. One pedestal instead of four legs clears the floor around the table, which shows at once at a round table or in a tight dining space. The example shown is black velvet; fabric type and colour are chosen at order.
