Armchairs

Halikarnas is a low lounge armchair: a wrapping shell upholstered in cream leather-look material, carried on dark walnut-toned solid wood legs. It takes its name from Halicarnassus, the ancient name of Bodrum. The shell runs in one piece from the back into the armrests and lowers toward the front to hold the sitter. The upholstery follows the folds of the shell, with the seams hidden inside the folds. The wood legs emerge from under the shell and splay outward, lifting the chair slightly off the floor. It is meant for a reading corner, a bedroom or a hotel room. Upholstery material and colour are chosen at order.

You see this piece in your room, in the finish you chose, before anything is made.

How to choose the right fabric for furniture? Differences between velvet, bouclé, linen and leather, durability tests and which works best in each space.

A niche, a ceiling beam or an uneven floor is where made to measure pays off; in a rented flat ready-made usually does the job. Nine criteria compared.
