The nightstand surface should align with the bed mattress top, typically 55-60 cm from the floor. We measure after the bed is selected, because mattress thickness (ranges from 18-30 cm) directly affects total height. Even a 5 cm difference ruins usability.
Should I choose marble or lacquer for the nightstand top?
Water glasses and medicine bottles sit on nightstands constantly. Marble resists water marks but feels cold. Lacquer looks warm and elegant but can show glass rings, matte lacquer largely solves this problem. We decide based on the bedroom color palette.
