Sargı Coffee Table

Sargı, Turkish for "wrap", takes its name from its base: two broad bent oak sheets wrap around each other, overlap at the front along a diagonal seam and form a conical skirt that widens toward the top. There are no legs; the table stands on this wrap. The round top carries a shallow tray lip. The lip keeps a cup, a book or a vase from sliding off the edge, and the grain runs unbroken across the top. Top and base share the same oak tone and a satin natural finish. It comes in two sizes: a low, wide coffee table and a taller, smaller side table. The side table's top rests over the edge of the coffee table so the two nest together; apart, it becomes a second surface beside the sofa. Size, oak tone and finish are set at order; the table is made in our own factory.
